We need you!
Training
Breaking trail takes a lot more work than following an existing path, but you get the chance to set something new...perhaps a more efficient, streamlined, and effective way.
Shoe skis to deal with the San Juan snow in Colorado the CDT worked...kind of. A full backcountry set up would have been more enjoyable (hint: the weakest link in this whole set-up were my ankles), but as I glided over those long snow traverses while others postholed and snow shoed through, it felt like the greatest idea in the world.
I don't always wear shirts that match my eyes, but when I do they are from Palente 😉

Thank you for existing.
Just because there is snow on the ground doesn't mean you have to stop hiking....read some tips on staying warm and comfortable on your next cold weather hike!
