2009 Wonderland Trail

The Wonderland Trail wanders around Mt. Rainier in a 100-mile trail filled with incredible views and very little flat ground. This was my boyfriend Kirk’s first long distance hike, and he said the only problem with it was that it was too short (swoon).

I was still working for Second Nature Cascades during this hike, and I returned to the field for one more winter before I went on to get a job with Outward Bound in Central Oregon. After that season, I transitioned into leaving the outdoor industry for a while to work for a publishing company in Bend, nurturing my writing and design roots for four years before leaving in 2015 to thru-hike the Continental Divide Trail.
